Accounts 2023 - 2024

Welcome to Strathaven Airfield Ltd's 2023 - 2024 annual accounts.

(links to previous years' accounts are at the foot)

This year there will only be a short note on the accounts - we've been really busy on the next financial year's big purchase, a £40,000 robot runway mower (the first to be used on a UK airfield!)

As per the previous year, the airfield roughly broke even. (£294 surplus compared to a £399 deficit in 2022-23)

One item of interest might be "other operating income" of £3,200 (£500 in previous year). This is money from drone ops and film location hire. It is an area we intend to try and expand, while all the time remembering that our main focus is as an airfield.

You may also note an apparent halving in club membership income. This was due to switching in April from annual membership payments to monthly ones, so we only had six monthly payments in this financail year.

The rent in 23-24 increased to match the 2019-20 levels, according to the Bank of England inflation calculator. At times during the pandemic both the hangarage rates and the rent paid on the airfield were frozen.

Finally, we gained £3,609 on VAT paid on certain capital items in the two years before VAT registration - a welcome bonus!

Looking to the future, we are now more than eight months into the 24-25 financial year and the airfield is still in a good financial position, although our electricity costs have doubled since our old three-year contract ended last October.

We hope to have the Oct 2024 - Sept 2025 accounts published before Christmas.
